When an escape attempt leaves Raphtalia dead, Jill is thrown into a world she’s never seen, burdened by the promise to carry out her late friend’s dream. Desperate for help, she finds herself at the House of Answers, where she’s injected with a mysterious serum that enhances her strength and reflexes, but awakens something inside her. Something with a conscience. With her friend’s dream as her only sense of direction, Jill navigates a cruel world. But the more she uses her newfound power, the more she feels herself slipping.
