The Ballad of Orange Tobby
Community Rating
Description
Turns out a universal currency and galactic economics don't always pan out, and the lethargic Galactic Community has done little even to recognize the problem. TheShasian Territorieshave stagnated, unemployment runs rampant, and organized crime is now king onSalafor. This remote corner of the community has festered into a powder-keg of disillusionment and shady markets, one which elements of an equally neglected humanity are happy to take advantage of, like Tobby's new boss, the human Noah.
Guns, drugs, chickens, you name it, Noah moves it, and the galaxy buys it. Bureaucratic oversights and legal loopholes are handy tools for exploiting a highly lucrative grey market. Many smugglers plying the route, but this is the story of Tobby and his part to play in one of the greatest upheavals in community history.
And it all begins with moving some crates. Tobby's gotta pay the rent somehow, right?
Its on Reddit too!(I'm bad at this and open to advice on how to improve the synopses)(Suggestions on how to refine and improve the story are appreciated)

Very detailed and engaging Story how a fresh PhD Historian get off the Rails.Detailed Background, dense detailed characters, believable and the plot is...thicc...like black ink...Humans are, funny enough in this HFY Story, more of a Background noise. And a loud on at that.Ridiculous with serious moments, the story takes you on a wild Roller coaster of emotions and Action.Author lay very great details on Character development and details on his several protagonists, without being boring nor long winded. It starts somewhat strange but helps you to keep in mind "Those are not Humans" until a Human shows up and make clear "jep, they are definitely NOT Human...because the non-Humans are the sane ones here"Gang life, History, mystery, a looming Armageddon of economic proportion and a ancient race coming to “police” the shit out of you and you wallet…and between all of this, a orange boi with, surprisingly enough, a LOT of thought behind those eyes.Story is worth your time if you like this style of over the Top "Last Action Hero" Action and a hearth wrenching love Story.I am a non native ESL reader so i cannot give any true scores on Grammar, so 5 stars it is. because everything else is also worth the 5Stars. It is definitely one of the top quarter ones. consistently high quality with a pace of currently two weeks...

Excellent story with interesting characters? Check.Space Cat Gangster Shenanigans? Check?Wacky Human Hijinks? Check?Story that has quite wholesome moments between the bullets and blood? Believe it or not also check.I stumbled over this on Reddit and decided to leave a review on Royal Road as apparently no one else has at this point. My only regret is the story is currently on hiatus as I'm typing this, but I look forward to it continuing when the times right.

I love the humor in this story, and the characters stay true to form from chapter to chapter. The author leans into the absurdity without ever losing control of the narrative, which is surprisingly rare. Best of all, the storyline stays consistent and purposeful, making The Ballad of Orange Tobby both entertaining and genuinely satisfying to read.

One of the best "take you on a merry ride away from your concerns" stories to come along in all too long. A most highly recommended distraction with engaging characters and a cohesive storyline and setting. Really a bit of alright in these trying times. Don't know what else to say, as a reader I thoroughly enjoy this story.
