Inheritance of the Fallen

Cale Galdrich is a nobleman of Nuterra, a world with magic, monsters, and demigods, a world where gods sometimes meddle. He can remember his past life on earth, but his family has never really let him enact any of his (in their opinion) crazy plans.The problem is, Cale's family is rich, but not particularly powerful, and anything that can be stolen, must be protected. Cale has never been able to use his knowledge of earth to benefit himself due to his loyalty to his family. And honestly, he hasn't needed to. But now the Galdrich family is in trouble. Cale doesn't have enough time for any merchant or retail plans, not least of which because the enemy families might be goaded to open violence at this point, if his family were to miraculously invent some new product. The reality is, the Galdrich family needs power, and Cale is willing to take risks to find it. He even has a plan, albeit not a very good one.And finally, Cale's father is willing to let him go, let him have an adventure. After all, the family is doomed anyway. Why not?Nobody expects much of him, but Cale's goal is to achieve the power to participate and place in the Noble Hero Tournament in one year...or die trying.
