Jake Thorne is in trouble. He lost his job in AI safety; he recycled all his possessions; he's at the end of his rope in a doomed future.Fortunately, there's another world that still has some use for him. Yakumo Yukari offers him a deal he can't refuse: immigrate to Gensokyo and escape those pesky troubles of the real world.Unfortunately, he's not the only person who wants to escape to the land of fantasy. Now he has to deal with a human village overflowing with nerdy Touhou fans. Hyper focused nerds; buff nerds; well-dressed nerds; asinine nerds. How can he stand out among a crowd like that? How can he achieve happiness in Gensokyo when he's just another dude, and when all the cute youkai are (probably) terrible monsters out to kill them all? He came to Gensokyo to escape that!
