  • When are the data for the charts acquired? For the weekly charts, the data are acquired few hours before midnight (China time) on Sunday. And for monthly charts, the data are acquired a few hours before midnight (China time) on the last day of the month.
  • Why? Because the weekly and the monthly charts on their original sites are reset shortly after midnight at those mentioned time above.
  • What is your timezone? Lingson’s timezone is at UTC+7 and Deathblade’s timezone is at UTC+8.
  • Are there any schedules for the charts release? There is no exact schedule, but in principle, the charts will be released one or two days after the data are acquired (So, the weekly charts will be released on Monday or Tuesday, while the monthly charts on the 1st or 2nd of the next following month.)
  • If I want to translate an untranslated novel, can I use the suggested translated titles? Absolutely. Feel free to use our translation of the titles. However, we do suggest you to research the novel first to determine that the title translation is correct/suitable.
  • I noticed that in the ▲/▼ (ranking change) column of the charts, sometimes, there are changes which numbers are greater than the number of rankings itself. Did you miscalculate those numbers? No. Although we only list a limited number of titles in the charts, we actually store 500, 1000, and even 5000 titles in our database (depends on the type of chart.)
  • Then, what if I’m interested in the complete charts? Can you provide me with them? Sure, we can send you the Top-100, Top-500, or Top-5000 of the charts in the format you prefer (PDF, HTML, CSV, or Excel documents) for a small additional cost.
  • I also noticed that Deathblade posted these rankings on WuxiaWorld. Are they the same? Yes and no. Since this is both Lingson’s and Deathblade’s project, so the charts are basically the same. However, there are some differences. In WW, all titles will all be translated already. However, since the charts posted on WW differ from week to week, the special ‘Ranking Change’ feature will only be available on this site (even the original chart on Qidian doesn’t list this on their chart), and the number of titles posted on the charts here will be more than on WW.
  • On the menu above, I see ’17k.com’, but I can’t see any charts yet. Where are they? For the beginning, we only list rankings from Qidian. However, we will also add the rankings from 17k.com in the future, as well as also adding more ranking categories from Qidian too. If there are other Chinese novel site listing their rankings, we might also list their rankings here in the future.

  1. Will you guys ever do some sort of poll of English readers to see what their favorite translated series are? It may not be quite the same thing, but that would also be something a lot of us would probably be interested in seeing as a special project down the road or something.
Or asking various translators what their favorite series are and posting them for us to see.
